Join the International World Solar Challenge 2009 Team!
If you want to join the team of World Solar Challenge 2009 then this is for you. The OSIR is sponsoring one team of not more than 15 students with complete transportation, including boarding and lodging for the event in Australia. We will also sponsor completely all the phases of designing, testing, prototyping and final design building with all the parts and spares of the Solar Car for the event. Note: To join OSIR team, you should be of minimum 16 years age, male or female and of any country. We do not ask any money to join OSIR Team for World Solar Challenge, if any one representing OSIR asking money then report us immediately.

What is the World Solar Challenge?
The World Solar Challenge is a biennial event based on a competitive field of solar cars crossing the Australian continent powered by nothing but the sun. Teams are required to research, build and design vehicles capable of completing the 3000km journey from tropical Darwin in the Northern Territory, to cosmopolitan Adelaide in South Australia.

The World Solar Challenge is undoubtedly one of the greatest scientific adventures of our time. Since 1987, the purpose of this event has been to promote and celebrate educational and technical excellence, and draw attention to the imperatives of sustainable transport.

It's an energy efficiency challenge, all about creating a balance between sustainable speed and endurance, energy management and strategic planning.

Other classes of participation are designed to showcase the viability and performance of a new generation of vehicles demonstrating ultra fuel efficiency and low emission technologies emerging in the cleaner and greener vehicles demanded by the motoring public.
